Condolence: I was very lucky to have Mr. Michaels as a teacher in High School. I was even more lucky to have the chance to get to know him as an adult. He was a delight to talk to. He told wonderful stories of all of the places he'd been, the people he'd met, and he still remembered where I sat in his class 35 years ago. The hole he'll leave in this world is immense, and I'm all the better for knowing him. My condolences to his children and grand children for your great loss.

Condolence: I have had the honor and privilege of knowing Harvey since 1995 when I joined the Board of the Holocaust Center. I admired Harvey very much and, like many people, I enjoyed being in his company very much. His sense of humor and intelligence, and his passionate interest in the education of his students, are what I remember most vividly. Condolence: Harvey was a life altering figure in many dimensions and a consistent and loyal friend. I am not alone in being a constant pen pal and phone companion of Harvey, whose unstinting devotion to his students, and pride in their families and accompaniments minor and major, personified his selflessness.
