WISHNOW- Joseph
81 of Woburn formerly of Wakefield and Hyde Park. Entered Eternal Rest October 29, 2015. Joe will always be remember as “The Taxicab Lawyer”, because he and his first law firm were responsible for creating the taxicab medallion financing industry in Boston and Cambridge. A graduate of Boston Latin High School and Boston University Law School, he had offices and practiced in Boston, Burlington and Woburn. Mr. Wishnow was an Adjunct Professor teaching law at Salem State University. He was also an amateur magician and volunteer in Salem Schools with the “Reading is Fundamental” program. Devoted husband of Doris (Weinstock) Wishnow. Beloved father of Robin & her husband Barry Fleischer, Harold & his wife Mita Wishnow and Sharon & her husband Ronald Ritchey. Cherished grandfather of Adam Fleischer, Noah and Evan Wishnow, Renee and Lydia Ritchey. Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) MALDEN on Sunday November 1 at 12:00 Noon. Interment at Golden Crown Cemetery in Woburn. Condolence calls may be made at his late residence following the interment until 8PM, Monday and Tuesday 1-4PM and 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions on his memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Association 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472 or a charity of one’s choice.
