Joseph Robert Braverman, 85, of Manchester NH, died June 7, 2016 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester.

Devoted husband of Elaine (Higer) Braverman, adored father of Beth, Susan and Rebecca, cherished son of the late Beatrice (Cooper) Braverman and George Braverman, and beloved son-in-law of Dorothy (Mendelson) Higer, Joe was a graduate of Malden High School and Northeastern University. After marrying his wonderful “Lainie”, Joe and Elaine moved to Maine, where they spent 22 years raising a family in Belfast and Bangor prior to moving to New Hampshire.

Lovingly known as “Unc” to his many nieces and nephews, Joe lived the last year of his life as he lived his long and full life; with a love of people, a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep commitment to family, friends and faith. Joe will be greatly missed, and the mark he made on the many people he loved and who loved him back will live long after his departure.

Services will be held at the Goldman Funeral Chapel, 174 Ferry Street, Malden on Thursday June 9 at 1pm, prior to interment at Ohel Jacob Cemetery in Woburn.

Following the service, family and friends may pay their respects at the home of Gerald and Marsha Rodman in Natick. Condolence calls may be made at the home of Elaine Braverman 11am to 6pm Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the Arthritis National Research Foundation.
