Obituary for Gerald Norman Freedman

FREEDMAN- Gerald N.
76, of Malden. Entered Eternal Rest February 27, 2017 from injuries sustained from a fall on the ice. Devoted husband of 50 years to Wilma (Weiner) Freedman. Beloved father of Robin & her husband Jason Niemaszyk and Andrew & his wife Kimberly Freedman. Cherished grandfather of Riley Freedman and Allie Freedman. Dear brother of Arthur & his wife Myrna Freedman.
Jerry was born in Chelsea on December 23, 1940, and moved with his family to Malden at the age of 10 where he resided for the remainder of his life. He graduated from Malden High School in 1958, and attended the Massachusetts School of Radio & Television from 1959-1961. He entered the U.S. Army in 1961 until his discharge in 1964. He later graduated from Northeastern University School of Engineering and began his professional career as an electrical engineer, employed at Draper Lab, and then Raytheon for several years. Jerry later became a certified pharmacy technician, and worked at Margolis Pharmacy in Chelsea, and currently at CVS in Malden. He was a member of the Masonic Converse Lodge and Brotherhood of Temple Tiferet Shalom of Peabody.
Jerry enjoyed being surrounded by his family and many friends, and loved vacationing, especially in Puerto Rico. He was an avid reader and sports enthusiast, and enjoyed the challenge of the daily crossword puzzle. He was loved and beloved by all.
Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) MALDEN on Friday March 3 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Everett. Condolence calls can be made following the interment at location to be announced. Then at his late residence on Saturday evening 6-9 PM, with minyan at 6PM and Sunday 1-4PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Temple Tiferet Shalom 489 Lowell St. Peabody, MA 01960 or a charity of one’s choice.
