YESSIN- Lt. Colonel Bernard M.
97, of Malden. Entered Eternal Rest April 6 2017. Bernard was the former District and Accounts Manager for Compo Shore Machinery in Waltham; and was the Former Chairman of the New England Shoe Foreman’s Association. He proudly served his country as a Veteran in WW II, retiring from the Army Reserves in 1971 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Devoted husband of the late Rita (Hamberg) Yessin. Beloved father of Mark & his wife Elizabeth Yessin and Donna & her husband Gary Backaler. Cherished grandfather of Gabriel Yessin, Jennifer & her husband Christopher Holmes, Amy Backaler and Joel Backaler & his wife Julia Zhou, and “Great Papa” to his great grandson Alexander Holmes. Dear brother of Ruth & her husband Arthur Erlich and the late Erwin Yessin. Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) MALDEN on Sunday April 9 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Ezrath Israel Cemetery, Danvers. Condolence calls may be made following the burial at the home of Donna & Gary Backaler until 8PM only. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Chelsea Soldiers Home 91 Crest Avenue Chelsea, MA 02150.
