Obituary for Phyllis Devi Breslow (Tesler)

Phyllis D. (Tesler) Breslow of Peabody passed away peacefully on November 17 at the age of 74. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Hillson) Tesler and Edward I Tesler. The beloved mother of Elizabeth Breslow, loving sister of Adria Alperen and her husband Paul of Brockton, and Ronald Tesler and his wife Toshie of Rockland ME. She was also aunt to Daniel and Maile Tesler and Dara Alperen-Cipollone and great aunt to Viviana Cipollone and Joclyn Tesler. Phyllis was educated in both the Malden and Stoneham Public Schools and graduated at the top of her class form Stoneham High School. Phyllis earned an undergraduate degree at Brown University (Pembroke) and graduate degrees at both Northeastern University and Simmons College. Phyllis worked at the Medford City Library as a well-respected, award winning Children’s Librarian for more than 30 years. She loved to travel, and often took trips with her loving daughter Elizabeth, visiting many European and Asian countries. A funeral service for family and friends will be held at the Goldman Funeral Chapel, 174 Ferry St, Malden on Monday November 20 at 11:00 AM. Condolence calls may be made Sunday November 26 at the home of Adria & Paul Alperen 33 Fern Ave Brockton 2-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice.
